Each of my kids holds a very special place in my heart!  Please take a few moments and visit their individual pages and experience a little bit of the joy they each bring to my life.  Click on a picture to visit each page.
Miss Karla Grace is my current guide dog from The Seeing Eye.  She arrived on Monday December 29th 2008 with my dear friend Janice... Jan trained Karla, and also trained Nolte and my two guides before him, Gwendy & Merlin.  Karla is a wonderful little guide and I look forward to working together with this petite little girl for many years to come.
Bennie is the li'l ol' man of the gang at almost 15 years old.  Bennie never seems to age... he hasn't a grey hair and is as active and playful as the youngest of my bunch.  He's had 2 bouts with IVDD (Intervertebral Disk Disease) but recovered without surgery after a lengthy period of crate rest and meds.  He's a special little fella and though I don't tell the others, Bennie is my favorite of the bunch.
Maizie is 3 years old and has truly won my heart.  I went to Texas in April 2006 and brought Maizie home from her darling breeder Neva.  Neva and I feel that Maizie was meant to be mine from the get-go.  She's a spirited funny little girl who brings much joy to my life.  Maizie is also my Diabetic Alert dog.  She came by this amazing ability naturally shortly after I had her home.  I contacted Dogs 4 Diabetics to inquire about dogs who naturally alert and was told that only 1 in 1500 dogs do this without any scent training... so Maizie is a keeper for sure!
Fawnie Marie is a lovely red dapple I rescued after she was surrendered by her previous owner.  She quickly  established herself as queen of GoldiDox Grove.  Fawn is also an IVDD survivor.  She underwent surgery in May 2006 and recovered well.  Fawn has a few "obsessions", including tennis balls and small animals (there was the infamous "parakeet incident").  She keeps me quite entertained.  Fawn is an active healthy and happy girl now and enjoying the good life here at GoldiDox Grove.

Gunther is also a red dapple and is 8 years old.  I rescued Gunnie as a pup.  Gunther is my little miracle boy, a two-time survivor of IVDD.  He underwent surgery December 23, 2004 and again in September 2006.  He was totally paralyzed prior to each surgery but you'd never know it now.  Gunther's first surgery was more then $2800... I was devastated not knowing how I'd ever pay the bill.  By God's grace I was quickly surrounded by many caring supportive friends from my doxie group Dachshund Daze.  With countless donations on their part to the neurosurgeon, as well as a substantial donation by Hearts United for Animals, Gunther's surgery was almost entirely covered.  I am so grateful to all who made it possible for Gunther to have his life-saving surgery. I'll be forever grateful for what they did for this special little dog and for me.  Gunther was diagnosed last year with PRA (progressive retinal atrophy) and is now totally blind, but that hasn't slowed him down either.  He's truly a special little miracle Dachshund who blesses my life every day.
Georgie is my little cream puff and such a love!  With the addition of this sweet little fella to the family I'm thrilled to finally see what has been a life long dream to breed and show these wonderful little hounds come to fruition.  Georgie earned his Canine Good Citizen title at 9 mths old and is doing well in conformation.  He has a promising future in the ring I believe.
My sweet Golden boy Nolte is 8 years old.  He and I met and trained together at The Seeing Eye in November-December 2003.  Nolte served faithfully as my guide dog for almost five years before retiring the Summer of '08  Now he's spending his leisure time as a spoiled rotten couch potato!  This boy has warmed the hearts of so many people in the time he was my guide, and is well known for his winning personality.  He's loved by many!... but mostly by ME!
Joanie is s a sweet little black & cream mini who I've dubbed the "First Lady of GoldiDox"!  This darling little hound has been long awaited, and I hope to see wonderful things happen in her future.  Isn't she the cutest little thing?
Ecclesiastes 3: 18-21
18 I also thought, "As for men, God tests them so that they may see that they are like the animals. 19 Man's fate is like that of the animals; the same fate awaits them both: As one dies, so dies the other. All have the same breath ; man has no advantage over the animal. Everything is meaningless. 20 All go to the same place; all come from dust, and to dust all return. 21 Who knows if the spirit of man rises upward and if the spirit of the animal goes down into the earth?"
Dannie is the newest addition to the GoldiDox Gang!  He's a very special little chocolate & cream double dapple boy.  Dannie is deaf, a common occurrance in double dapple Dachshunds.  Thankfully his vision is perfect and look at those beautiful baby blues!  Dannie is learning commands in sign language and he's a smart and willing little student.  I'm so happy to have this little boy join the family.
